Formed in October 1979, the Cake Decorators’ Association of Western Australia (Inc) has supported and encouraged cake decorators of all levels and abilities to perfect their craft. Our aim is “to foster and improve the art of Cake Decorating by providing opportunities for the interchange of ideas and skills”.
These are currently located at:
- Swan Districts
As a member, you will also be part of a wider national body with access to meetings, workshops, newsletters and competitions as well as State and National seminars, featuring local and international guest demonstrators. All this for a very affordable annual membership fee!
To join the Association, contact the secretary of the Branch you would prefer to join. Their details can be found by clicking on the “Our Branches” menu and selecting your chosen Branch. They will forward you all of the important information you need to join. You can then return your completed information by email or post and arrange payment of your membership fees.
When you join a Branch, you are entitled to visit any of the other Branches to see their demonstrations or participate in their workshops or other events and you are also entitled to join the “members only” Facebook page. Most Branches meet monthly although this varies from club to club, especially in the country areas. Meetings are followed either by demonstrations or hands-on workshops, which cater for all decorators from beginners to the more advanced.
We publish an in-house magazine “Icing News” which is emailed to members four times per year. This magazine contains not only news of “what’s on and where”, but also articles, pictures, recipes, and even instructional notes for those wishing to enhance their skills or just practice more.
We also have a team of trained Judges who travel throughout the State judging competitions for not only Branches but also the Perth Royal Show as well as most country shows that have cake displays and competitions.
